Nominations for the Civic Impact Awards, presented by TechForGov, will open in July 2026.
The awards are designed to recognize local governments, public agencies, departments, and public servants who are improving how communities are served.
Work that often goes unseen
Across municipalities, counties, authorities, and public agencies, meaningful work is happening every day. Some of it is highly visible. Much of it happens behind the scenes.
A clerk’s office may be improving how residents access records. A public works team may be responding faster to service requests. A finance team may be making information easier to understand. A technology team may be helping departments work more efficiently. An administrator may be leading a practical change that improves service across the organization.
These are the kinds of stories the Civic Impact Awards are meant to recognize.
What nominations will focus on
Nominations will focus on public service impact, including improved resident access, faster response times, stronger communication, reduced manual work, responsible use of technology, better transparency, and practical ideas that other communities can learn from.
A simple nomination process
The nomination process will be simple. Nominators will be asked to share who they are nominating, what challenge was addressed, what changed because of the effort, and how the work improved public service.
Individuals, departments, municipalities, counties, authorities, and public agencies may be nominated.

The Civic Impact Awards are rooted in a simple idea: public service deserves to be seen, celebrated, and shared.
